100 Million Mask Challenge

Providence St. Joseph Health, headquartered in Washington State, launched the 100 Million Mask Challenge and has seen a tremendous outpouring of support from individuals, community organizations and local manufacturers.The American Hospital Association will now bring the initiative to scale across the country, facilitating new relationships between providers in need of surgical masks and manufacturers with the capacity to produce them.

Fact Sheet: OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard Proposals

The Biden Administration recently released a series of Executive Orders (EOs) related to the COVID-19 pandemic. One EO includes provisions for the Department of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to consider whether an Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS), including with respect to mask wearing, is necessary, and, if so, to issue an ETS by March 15. Proposals to include a congressional requirement for OSHA to promulgate an ETS also are being considered as part of negotiations on the next COVID-19 relief package.

Our hope is that manufacturing companies across the company will step up to rapidly produce surgery-grade masks and face shields for health care workers.
