Fall Enrichment Program (FEP)
Each fall, the Institute for Diversity and Health Equity partners with various hospitals and health systems across the country to provide a 20-week paid internship opportunity for academically strong, diverse individuals. This opportunity is aimed at students who have completed their health care-oriented graduate degree within the last two to three years. The Fall Enrichment Program (FEP) offers an immersive on-site experience for those who want to become exceptional hospital administrators and health care leaders.
Hospitals and health systems that register as FEP host sites receive a prime opportunity to recruit top students from nationally accredited health training programs. Following the application process and interviews, approved candidates are then recommended to host sites where they can begin to successfully contribute in their new roles.
The FEP will open registration for both students and host sites on June 14, 2021, and will remain open until Sept. 6, 2021, for students and until Sept. 7, 2021, for host sites.

How To Register:
To register as a Host Site for the Fall Enrichment Program:
1.) Visit our online database by clicking here. Where it says, "Enter your Organization:" enter IFDSEP. Do NOT enter IFDFEP.
2.) Enter your profile information. Host sites should fill out the white and gray sections.
3.) Once you have completed the registration, you will receive an email with your Profile Id. Hang onto that. You'll need that to log in, update your profile and search for interns.
4.) Download and fill out the FEP Host Site Commitment Form.
5.) Email Senior Inclusion and Diversity Specialist, Ben Wilburn at email@example.com to connect with any further instructions for participating in the Fall Enrichment Program. Include your FEP Host Site Commitment Form with this email.
Other: The administrative fee is $2,500 per intern, which the host site is responsible for paying. The Institute will email the host site within two business weeks of the intern start date. Host sites are recommended to pay the FEP interns at least $20 per hour / $800 a week.
Note: There is no cost for registering as a host site for the program. You will not be invoiced until you select an intern.
To apply as a Student Intern for the Fall Enrichment Program:
1.) Visit our online database by clicking here.
2.) In the field, "Enter your Organization:" enter IFDSEP. (Note: Do not enter IFDFEP.
3.) Enter your contact information into the blank applicant profile. Do not fill out the gray "Host Site Section", just the blue "Student Section." Please do not skip any fields as a completed profile is required to register. (Note: The registry will not save your progress if you close the window or leave before it is complete.)
4.) Once you complete the profile, you will receive a confirmation email with your Profile Id. Save that information. You will need it to log in and update your profile or upload documents. If you do not receive a confirmation email, then your profile was not completed and you will need to create a new profile.
5.) Assemble your Application Packet Materials and upload them to your "App Packet" page. Questions about the Application packet materials are answered at the bottom of this page. They include:
- Your letter of introduction - 1-2 pages telling us more about yourself. Please indicate in the first sentence of your letter that you are applying for the Fall Enrichment Program.
- A current resume
