CMS proposes increasing Medicare hospital outpatient department payment rates by 2.4% in CY 2026
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services July 15 issued a proposed rule (https://www.federalregister.gov/public-inspection/2025-13360/medicare-and-medicaid-programs-hospital-outpatient-prospective-payment-and-ambulatory-surgical) that would increase Medicare hospital outpatient prospective payment system rates by a net 2.4% in calendar year 2026 compared to 2025.
